FAQ
Where are you located? Do you travel?
I am located in the Metro-Detroit, Michigan area. I do travel, however travel fees will apply to locations outside of Metro-Detroit.
Do you have any location ideas?
Besides in-home sessions, I've shot at many local locations - here are some suggestions: Elizabeth Park, Heritage Park, Lower Huron Metro Park, Sterling State Park, Belle Isle (State Park pass), BASF Park (Wyandotte), Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA), Henry Ford Estate (need permit), Downtown Detroit (Z Parking Garage, Campus Martius, The Alley), Michigan Central Station, Greenfield Village or Henry Ford Museum, Westcroft Gardens (need permit), Matthaei Botanical Garden, Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, Four Star Greenhouse (need permit), Crosswinds Marsh, Centennial Farms, Gibraltar Bay Unit, The Law Quad (Ann Arbor)
How will I receive my images?
I provide edited, high-resolution images (as well as web-size) in an online gallery sent via e-mail. You are able to download images directly to your computer or phone. (Note: If making prints, make sure to use the high-resolution version from a computer as web-size will not be high enough quality.)
Galleries are available to you for one year and then will expire, so I highly recommend downloading files as soon as you receive.
How many images will I receive?
I don’t believe in holding back great photos — you’ll receive all the best images from your session. I only list specific image counts for senior sessions since those are more specialized, but for families, couples, and lifestyle sessions, you can expect a full gallery with every strong, beautiful shot included.
I’m definitely an over‑shooter and an over‑deliverer, so you’ll always walk away with plenty of variety and more images than you expect.
Are you insured?
Yes. Insurance coverage information can be provided if a venue requires it.
What's your editing style?
I have a clean, true-to-color editing style.
Do you offer prints?
Prints and other wall art, such as canvases, are available to purchase through your online gallery. I work with a professional printing lab to ensure highest quality. I recommend using the high-resolution versions of images downloaded to a computer (not a cell phone). The web-size versions will also be available to you and are great for sharing on social media, but will not be suitable print quality. I also recommend avoiding stores like CVS and Walgreens for printing, as they do not have the equipment to ensure high quality and accurate colors.
What gear do you use?
I shoot with a Canon R5 mirrorless, a Canon R6 ii and a Canon 5DS with many Canon and Sigma lenses. I edit in Photoshop and Lightroom.
How do I book?
You can fill out your contact information on this website or email me at kristenbruley@gmail.com and we will come up with a date and location that works for both of us! Note: I do have a full-time job and photography is my side business, so I am limited to mainly weekends with a few weekday evenings available.
What happens if it rains?
We can re-schedule if there is inclement weather.
What is your turnaround time?
Regular sessions are around 1-3 weeks; weddings are 4-12 weeks depending on season and workload.
Do you offer payment plans?
I can work with you on customizing a payment plan to fit your specific needs.
Can we bring our pets?
Pets are always welcome! The only restrictions would be if the location does not allow pets.
What should we wear to our session?
Please refer to the style guide in the main menu.
